Well…there’s a multitude of reasons.
First, everyone post pictures of themselves - and, well, I guess I just want to be different.
Second, I don’t want that to be what my blog is about - trying to advertise myself by looks or anything. My tumblr is just a compilation of things that I adore, or admire, or things that inspire me. It’s not a means for me to look for compliments on my appearance, etc. (or be judged by how I look.)
Third (and this might get people defensive, but, whatever) it’s narcissistic. And one thing I actively try to avoid is a pompous attitude. One thing that I really dislike about Tumblr (and which has almost caused me to leave it at times) is all the GPOY pictures people post (especially with them writing obscure things under them that in no way relate to the picture of themselves). I don’t know. It just irks me. I’m weird that way, I guess.
Fourth, it adds a bit to the mysteriousness, no?
